CT HOBY LEADERSHIP
Connecticut HOBY is run by a 100% Volunteer Team. Each person involved gives of their time, energy, and passion because we believe in providing quality leadership development and service learning experiences to the youth of our State.
Connecticut HOBY is comprised of several teams to ensure that the organization not only completes its day to day tasks, but it also is a sustainable organization that will live on for many years to come. These teams are the Corporate Board, Seminar Leadership Team, CLeW Leadership Team, Alumni Association, and Parents Association.
The Corporate Board
The Corporate Board oversees all activities conducted under the HOBY name, has fiduciary responsibility that HOBY programs are operated according to HOBY International standards, and ensures the perpetuation of HOBY through strategic, long-range planning. Specifically, the Corporate Board’s primary purpose is to assure that HOBY programs and activities are planned, organized and run according to the goals, policies, guidelines, and definitions of HOBY’s International Board of Trustees and/or headquarters office.
The Seminar Leadership Team
The Seminar Leadership Team is responsible for all aspects of the Annual Seminar. The Team handles the program planning, speaker selection, and recruitment of volunteers and ambassadors. The team is lead by the Leadership Seminar Chair (LSC).
The Connecticut HOBY Corporation is the legal entity of HOBY for the State of Connecticut. The Corporation holds an Affiliation Agreement with HOBY International, which provides for the legal right and authority to operate HOBY programs in the Corporation’s given territory. The Corporation is run by volunteer managers on its Corporate Board. The Corporate Board recruits and employs additional volunteers to operate the program components of HOBY including Leadership Seminars, CLeWs, and alumni activities. All program chairs are directly accountable to the Corporate Board.

I love how HOBY opens high school students’ eyes to their full leadership potential, and gives them the tools to go back to their communities and make a tangible impact. I am super excited to see the impact that our amazing team at CT HOBY is able to make in 2023! I am currently living in CT and attending Physician Assistant school at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.

HOBY is a place where ambassadors feel heard. I love helping ambassadors discover new ideas and develop themselves with peers in their community. I currently live in Boston where I started a new job as a Surgical Robotics Software Engineer at Medtronic.

I love being able to see what HOBY alumni do and accomplished after they leave seminar with all they have learned! I have a dog named Ollie who’s my number one best friend and I love going to concerts.

I love the moment you see when the weekend really clicks for an ambassador! When they leave the seminar, you know that they’re leaving knowing what kind of leader they are and how they can use their leadership style to make change in their community. As a hobby, I LOVE talking politics and engaging in discussions about current issues!
